[ale] Virtualization question

Given that many things made for "open systems" have Windows management
stations or tools I don't think it's fair to chide VMware for it.
VMWare of course allows for Windows guest systems as well and many folks
that use it ONLY use it for Windows guests. 

What really got me was when HP started making HP-UX management tools
that only ran on Windows.  Go figure.

Unfortunately VMWare has not moved away from their Windows-only tool.
It's a bad choice, and I don't understand why a thick client is required
to simply manage guests.  I can understand it for conversions, etc., but
not for management.

I haven't had a chance to play with the SDK.  Supposedly there is one
for Linux, but I haven't worked with it yet.
