You should go back to using dl.fedoraproject.org. 

download-i2, while still there, was depreciated a while back. The I2
link it's on now is just not fast enough to be worth it. You should
find dl much faster I think. 

download-i2 uses a snapmirror of dl content, but as you note this can
lag a while before it syncs all the way. (Especially during heavy
bandwith days like beta release and RHEL 6.8 release). 

So, short answer: go back to dl.fedoraproject.org. ;)
