you want to pull the release date to Monday? I would suggest not to,
as while the syncs are done on the weekend any issues will usually be
seen on Monday morning and having another 24h to fix things is a good
thing.
I've seen this happen to me, and I was then happy to have time to find
a fast mirror to resync from on Monday.
Having said that - the latest releases had been rather smoothly
syncing as the packages were not re-signed in the last minute and so
the hardlink option to rsync made the final syncs a non-issue. Only
the iso bits used really bandwidth and new space, so we should be more
flexible than several releases back, when the whole package set had to
be re-synced.
Also there are so many mirrors nowadays that if a couple don't make it
in time it will not be an issue with the release itself. We've had
smooth releases in general for several versions now. So, IMHO we
shouldn't mind if you would narrow the timeframes.
