If a Chiropractor touches me There Will Be Blood. ChiropractIc has a
documented history of harming and even killing patients (
http://whatstheharm.net/chiropractic.html ), yet no controlled,
peer-reviewed studies have demonstrated that it is more effective than
conventional medicine for any condition ( http://skepdic.com/chiro.html )
. The best cure for not exercising is to exercise. The best cure for not
getting enough sleep is to sleep. The simplest way to lose weight is to eat
less. For other conditions, I think I'll take my chances with medical
technology which has been scientifically vetted. We obviously disagree on
this.

Taking a lifestyle drug such as Viagra or a sleep aid like Ambien, or even
an antidepressant like Zoloft is a personal choice. Everyone has to weigh
the possible benefits of those drugs against their dangers. The conditions
which these drugs are designed to fix have little or nothing to do with
immune systems, natural living, or what people ate for breakfast.

Most people who live with cancer, AIDS, or other life-threatening
conditions do much better with actual establishment medical technology than
they do with witch-doctoring of any kind, whether it's reflexology,
chiropractic, orgone therapy, apricot pit extract, or any of the other
myriad ideas pushed by people who discount actual scientific study on what
works and what does not. Some people get better no matter what treatment
they choose. Some people don't even with the best treatment available.
If: (1) You get sick (2) Someone treats your sickness and (3) You get
better, THEN: (4) Nothing on the planet will convince you that your
treatment didn't make you better. That is why controlled, peer-reviewed
studies are the only way to know if a proposed treatment for a condition
actually works, or how well it works.

In countries which have widespread access to modern medicine, lifespans
have consistently been rising over generations. In countries where that is
not true, lifespans have remained static or fallen over the same period.
