[ale] OT: Charter Phone vs. BellSouth

You got a hold of someone in authority? Man you are lucky.
My cable modem went out for 2 weeks and I couldn't get anyone
in any position other than "flunky" to help. Customer service
just said, "Oh I'm sorry to hear that, I know how frustrating
that can be." They did give me a month for free (whoppee do).
But since I work from home I was screwed for 2 weeks. My boss
was not happy. Turns out the problem was with their lines
on the next street (they kept telling me it was the wiring in my
house and they were going to charge me for it).

I would replace them with something else but I'm not going back
to Hellsouth to save my life. My only other choice is satellite
or part T1 and they're both pricey.

Maybe if I move to Canada or South Korea.... Oops, make that
Canada.
