But that is going to *so* 5ux0r, trying to put slides on video. If
they've already got a film scanner (and if the Nikon Coolscans ever get
supported in Linux, it'll be hard for me to resist), they've solved the
slide-to-digital conversion part. It just seemed to me that the
ImageMagick suite ought to be able to get from there to an MPEG.
There's still the matter of the cues in the audio track, and were it me,
I would try to isolate the timing of those cues in Audacity and write
the times down, and write up a script that told the ImageMagick tools
what to do when. If you could get that to MPEG, audio included, you
could go straight to DVD without an intermediate analog step, couldn't
you?
