Thompson Technologies has an excellent opportunity for a full time Linux Engineer!



Title: Senior Server/Network Administrator

Location: Duluth, GA



Details:

*        This position will have considerable freedom of action within role - ability to make sound technical, financial and time management decisions with limited supervision required.

*        Extensive experience configuring/administering CentOS/RHEL servers.

*        Experience configuring/administering Linux-based virtual servers.

*        Configure/maintain network systems using iptables, Linux HA, managed switches, VPN and load balancing hardware.

*        Experience administering a multi-tier web application infrastructure.

*        Experience with supporting and tuning Apache HTTPD, PHP, PostgreSQL, Subversion.

*        Fluency in shell programming required.

*        Experience working with equipment in a data center, not just managed services.

*        Experience interacting with internal support and external customers desired.

*        Flexibility to work odd hours as needed for maintenance or emergencies.

*        Passionate about IT security management and response.

*        BS degree in related field preferred and 5+ years practical working experience required.

*        Background check and drug screening required prior to hire.



Desired skills:

*        Fluency in Python desired.



Travel requirements: Primary location of work is Duluth, (Atlanta area), GA. Travel is required occasionally to other company locations.
