Long term contract with high potential to higher in the Vinings

Position Description

An intermediate + system administrator generalist with a strong website support background. Provides technical expertise for database administrators, applications developers, and application owners. Provide scripting services to application owners from non-traditional IT environments. Assist developers and non-traditional IT customers with software launches and customizing user experience on workstation UI. Coordinate and customize build environment for internal and external application to suit our environment and ensure consistency and integration with existing service structure.

Job Qualifications

* Linux Administration experience (RedHat 6.4/CentOS 4.8 - Current) (4+ yrs)

* Good working knowledge with scripting languages such as Perl and korn shell (8+ skill)

* VMware, XEN, KVM administration experience

* Intermediate level knowledge in MySQL or Oracle

* Intermediate level knowledge of tomcat, apache, varnish. Have the ability to determine issues in

the stack and assist developers in troubleshooting.

*knowledge of NFS protocol and tuning

*Basic knowledge of SAN and HBA, and NAS (from a system administrator standpoint)

*Knowledge of creating RPMs for open source and CPAN modules a plus

* Compiling open source applications for customers

* Good problem-solving skills using system data such as SAR, I/O stat, tcpdump, etc.

* Monitoring experience maintaining and configuring (preferably zabbix, nagios)

* Experience supporting mid to large scale internet site.

* Experience configuring CDN (Akamai or level3), keynote

* Experience with varnish or squid

* Experience administering SAN, NAS storage and Netbackup a plus

* Experience with cloud technologies a plus

* on-call support responsibilities expected


Additional Knowledge& Skills

The successful candidate is an intermediate level System Administrator who is very motivated to advance their skill level. Additional knowledge and skills include:

* Install and support new and existing products in Linux development environments

* Propose and implement system enhancements to improve the performance and reliability of internally writing applications
