Senior Linux Engineer

The Senior Linux Engineer is responsible for the operation, and support of all production, staging, and development server systems and industry leading load balancer appliances. Responsibilities involve managing, deploying, and supporting server hardware and software; monitoring of servers and hosted applications/web sites; supporting operational issues; project implementation; providing training and assistance to users and coworkers.
The Systems Engineer position will work closely with the Development, Design and systems/storage groups. This position is responsible for management and administration of development and staging environments for the Development, QA and Product Management groups.

Responsibilities
System installation and maintenance of Solaris, UNIX and Linux systems.
Responsible for configuration, maintenance and support of Apache and Tomcat servers.
Creating, configuring, and tuning java application servers and web servers for development, staging, and production environments.
Administration of DNS, SMTP, FTP, SSH, LDAP, and NFS services.
Interface with various internal and external business units to ensure the initiatives of the internet
technology group will support the success of the business and maximize customer satisfaction.
Responsible for new server installations including OS install, raid configuration, and NIC configurations
Knowledge and ability to write scripts for configuration and automation (bash, ksh, perl, python)
Disk volume manager administration.
Responsible for troubleshooting various server hardware issues including memory upgrades, hard drive replacement, raid controller replacement
Responsible for content updates and deploying war files into staging and production environments
Mentors other Unix and Internet Services Engineers.
Manage systems to achieve 24x7 availability.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities.
Knowledge of Solaris, UNIX, and Linux (SUSE or Redhat) operating systems.
Sun Solaris, Linux (SUSE or Redhat), and general UNIX administration.
Install, configure, and manage industry leading load balancers including advanced load balancing and load management concepts.
Knowledge of industry leading SAN/NAS storage systems.
Project planning, execution, and management.
Knowledge of Data Center architecture design and management.
Hardware, software and network troubleshooting in a complex environment.
Experience configuring, supporting and administrating industry leading virtualization software.
