Job Description:

The Engineer is responsible for the operation and management of all
production, staging, and development server systems, and industry
leading load balancer appliances worldwide, including Europe, the
Pacific Rim, and Asia.  Responsibilities involve implementing server
hardware and software; monitoring of servers and hosted
applications/web sites; supporting operational issues that are beyond
operations staff; project implementation; providing training and
assistance to users and coworkers.



The UNIX and Internet Services Engineer position will work closely
with the Development, Systems Support and systems/storage groups. This
position is responsible for management and administration of
development and staging environments for the Development, QA and
Product Management groups.



Job Responsibilities:

·         Knowledge of Data Center architecture design and management.

·         System installation and maintenance of Solaris, UNIX and
Linux systems.

·         Sun Solaris, Linux, and general UNIX administration.

·         Administration of DNS, SMTP, FTP, SSH, LDAP, and NFS services.

·         Patch management, upgrades to critical systems worldwide.

·         SAN/NAS storage systems knowledge.

·         Hardware, software and network troubleshooting.

·         Understanding of new business initiatives and the
implementation of technologies to facilitate them.

·         Manage systems to achieve 24x7 availability.

·         Work closely with the storage, network and development
groups to ensure business continuity.

·         Interface with various internal and external business units
to ensure the initiatives of the internet technology group will
support the success of the business and maximize customer
satisfaction.

·         Responsible for new server installations including OS
install, raid configuration, and NIC configurations

·         Knowledge of disk volume manager administration.

·         Responsible for troubleshooting various server hardware
issues including memory upgrades, hard drive replacement, raid
controller replacement

·         Knowledge of load balancing and load management concepts.

·         Creating, configuring, and tuning java application servers
and web servers for development, staging, and production environments.

·         Knowledge of web servers and java application servers.

·         Good Apache configuration knowledge and ability to build
custom apache binaries.

·         Knowledge of industry leading power management devices.

·         Perform other duties as assigned by management.

·         Knowledge, and administration of industry leading
virtualization software.

·         Some knowledge of Oracle databases and the ability to
support Oracle database administrators.
