This is a perm position located in Atlanta.   
 
UNIX Administrator/VIO experience Manatory

 

Our client in Atlanta is looking for an Administrator to perform
maintenance, troubleshooting, tuning, installation, and backup/recovery
on client servers.  The Administrator will work closely with the team to
design and implement systems that leverage UNIX technology. 

 

Duties

1.       Take on call and shift duty for 24x7 support schedule as
required by client engagement. 

 

2.       Model UNIX infrastructure and architecture. 

 

3.       Define transition steps from the current to the future
technology architectures, including interoperability with existing
application migration strategies as required. 

 

4.       Define UNIX system and operational requirements. 

 

5.       Define and ensure integrity of the UNIX infrastructure. 

 

6.       Evaluate, size, and assist in selecting the most efficient and
effective UNIX infrastructure. 

 

7.       Keep abreast of current emerging industry technologies to
maintain visibility on opportunities to enhance the solution offerings.

Job Knowledge or Work Experience: 

*         VIO Experience manatory.

*         5+ years hands-on UNIX administration, IBM AIX mandatory. 

*         3+ years of UNIX Systems\Infrastructure design, system
migration, performance and capacity measurement mandatory 

*         UNIX scripting

*         Experience with automation software.

 

 

*         UNIX support in Oracle RDBMS environment.

*         Hands on Tivoli Storage Management experience nice to have. 

*         Hands on experience in SAN environment, preferably IBM ESS
SHARK nice to have. 

*         Hands on experience with IBM HA environment. 

 

Education: Degree: computer science or like discipline preferred
(equivalent experiences acceptable)
