Hello mirrors,
As announced at the Red Hat Summit this morning, there will be a refresh of
the RHEL 6 beta. The current plan is to make this available on Tuesday, June
29th. Of course, that is subject to change based on internal QE testing.
We are hoping to enlist mirror support for this refresh. I have already
updated the yum repos to include mirrorlist URLs. For this refresh, the top-
level paths will be:
/pub/redhat/rhel/beta/5.90Server
/pub/redhat/rhel/beta/5.90Workstation
The version of redhat-release-* has been downgraded to 5.90{$variant} in this
refresh to avoid RHN upgrade issues between now and GA.
These two directories will contain approximately 34G of RPMs and 27G of ISOs
(taking hardlinks into account).
We won't be able to provide much of a runway for seeding before going public,
but we can make the bits available to mirrors on Monday, June 28th. That will
allow for approximately 24 hours of seeding before the release.
We would like to take advantage of the tiering to make this available in a
smooth and orderly process. There is a new RHEL product in fedora's
mirrormanager instance. Please add yourself to it if you will be mirroring the
bits. Due to the short time frame to get the bits out and available we would
appreciate you running report_mirror when you have the complete tree.
We would appreciate if everyone with a complete mirror at release time could
do a manual chmod to make the bits available.
Thank you in advance for your help. It's much appreciated.
Cheers
