I wasn't suggesting mirror admins to do use a broswer to check for
updates ;)

My points were:
a) This file contains content that is rather irrelevant (who would
   even install FC3 and use FE3 in 2009?)
b) the file is much too large, be that rsync or http. I only want to
   know for example if there are new updates or new rawhide content.
