I tried this as well on CentOS 5.2, but ended up reverting to  stock  
(2.6.8) when I had some odd issues and rsync failures when attempting  
to sync from ibiblio at the time.  I didn't have time to chase it down  
at the time.  I tested rsync-3.0.0.  Once my rsync issues with  
downloading from Red Hat were sorted out, I switched back to Red Hat's  
I2 connected rsync host but stayed on rsync 2.6.8.
