Hi all,
Where: GoLUG: https://meet.jit.si/golug
When: Wednesday, 12/4/2024 7pm sharp Eastern Standard time
Arrive 15 minutes early for Microphone check & discussion
Ada is language devoted to safety critical applications, kind of like
Rust but older and more mature. Ada's also devoted to development by
large groups with subgroups working independently, as well as embedded
coding.
Ada's a big, capable language with breathtakingly strong typing, modular
programming mechanisms (packages), run-time checking, parallel
processing with tasks (Ada's implementation of threads). Ada also has
object orientation and high level type-safe memory management (and no
pointers). Ada has packages for creating both Web applications and
graphical (GUI) applications. The latest version is Ada 2022, which
came out in 2023.
On Wednesday, 12/4/2024 at 7pm Eastern Standard time, Steve Litt will
give a 2 hour Beginning Ada Presentation to help you decide if Ada
interests you, and to give you the basic tools to learn Ada
independently, as well as from Steve's 3/4 complete "Beginning Ada" web
page at https://troubleshooters.com/codecorn/ada/beginningada.htm .
