[ale] [EXTERNAL] Suggestion for a Good Linux/Desktop

After years of trying to limit bloated GUIs, I finally gave up and
returned to using fvwm. I'd tried XFCE, LXDE, straight openbox,
fluxbox, gnome2. Long ago, I used KDE, which was fine, but not
all that impressive to me.
It is maintained and hasn't changed much in 20 yrs. Every new
release doesn't mean I need to learn some wild new GUI. The one
I've known since the mid-1990s still works great AND provides
control over every detail. 1 config file or, if you like, 1 config
directory and any system becomes "mine". No need to logoff to see
config changes.
Most of my GUIs run either inside a VM or on a limited laptop.
Gnome3 just isn't an option. Pretty much everything seems bloated
compared to fvwm. I suppose the mwm from suckless would be lighter.
