Webpages and access to them disappears over time. With Wallabag, the data is stored in my server. Some news stories are available for a few days, but then require payment to access next month when I have time. Wallabag works off line for Android clients. Bookmarks won't.

Being able to full-text search the story, not just the title a few months/years later is handy too. Remember that story for how to hack 80% of IoT cameras abusing UDP P2P network techniques for port 32100/udp that came out last week/month/year? What were the p2p networks they used that are used by almost all Chinese-made IoT cameras? What was the key to gaining access to all those cameras from anywhere in the world?

Bookmarks aren't shared across all my devices, since I won't allow that to be handled by some cloudy company. I figured anyone running a custom Android would be the same.
