[ale] USB "duplicate" drive issue on CentOS

Flakey motherboard perhaps?  I saw some threads on the kernel mailing
list about the NED/Renesas chips having issues and it turned out there
was an issue on the motherboard that caused the card trouble (probably
the PCIe controller killing some of the lanes).
