[ale] samba and tutorial for samba newbie

Friends:

I started trying out samba so I can access my Linux box from my Windoze
machine.


I run Mythubuntu 10.10 on my mythtv-server.  It has two drives

/dev/sda1 -> mounted as / which has the os
/dev/sdb1 -> mounted as /mnt/windir which has some stuff on it.  It is a
NTFS partition.

I setup samba and when I type

\\10.10.10.10 I see the share of the home folder /home/coolguy

I have added coolguy as a valid user for samba.

I am unable to share /mnt/windir even though I have listed it in my smb.conf
file.

It shows up in the listing when I do \\10.10.10.10, but when I double click
on the vides folder which is the name for /mnt/windir, it tells me I dont
have permission.

/mnt/windir is owned and mount by root but has 777 permissions for itself
and for the contents as well.

Not sure what is missing or what I am not understanding right.
