Friends:<br><br>I started trying out samba so I can access my Linux box from my Windoze machine.<br><br><br>I run Mythubuntu 10.10 on my mythtv-server. It has two drives<br><br>/dev/sda1 -> mounted as / which has the os<br>
/dev/sdb1 -> mounted as /mnt/windir which has some stuff on it. It is a NTFS partition.<br><br>I setup samba and when I type<br><br>\\10.10.10.10 I see the share of the home folder /home/coolguy<br><br>I have added coolguy as a valid user for samba.<br>
<br>I am unable to share /mnt/windir even though I have listed it in my smb.conf file.<br><br>It shows up in the listing when I do \\10.10.10.10, but when I double click on the vides folder which is the name for /mnt/windir, it tells me I dont have permission.<br>
<br>/mnt/windir is owned and mount by root but has 777 permissions for itself and for the contents as well.<br><br>Not sure what is missing or what I am not understanding right.<br><br>-Narahari<br>
