About a year ago there was a C++ meetup that folded up because the
leader no longer was interested. It had about 61 members.
I created a google group and invited everyone to join to provide a
free alternative to meetup. I was the only one to join so I suspect
that my meetup email did not reach the 61 as I suspect at least one
person would have joined.

Feel free to join that group and start to promote it. I can turn
ownership over to you if you want to carry the ball.
At this time I am not active with C++, but I still would attend meetings.
