If you're using the gogoclient software (I haven't, but just looked at
it briefly), there's a keepalive setting that includes a timing.
Decreasing this timing may help.

Does your FVS318 have stock firmware?  I've found the connection
tracking in stock router firmwares disappointing for anything that's not
constantly pushing data.
