I agree with those sentiments, and I've already explained how I think it
should be handled.  

Obama's on the right track with thinking, "voluntary option", IMHO- but
such a plan needs to be funded in such a way that congress cannot
"borrow" from it.  It should, in effect, be a "separate union", to all
intents and purposes in order to remove the conflicts of interest
inherent in allowing the Federal government to (mis)manage it as they
have FICA all these years.  The people running shouldn't be bureaucrats
beholden to their jobs to the congressional body, but beholden to the
people via the republican process, and strictly limited in it's scope to
provide health care.  Period.  

I truly believe that this is the only way such a system could be made to
work.  For reasons I've outlined again and again in this thread.
