Port 25 Blocking has been well discussed before.  The general gist seems 
to be that AT&T has an opt-out (possibly for business only customers)
but that does not "yet" apply to Bellsouth.net customers.  Bellsouth has 
had this block for DSL customers since about '04.  Best advice I can 
offer is assume you're
blocked until you prove otherwise.
