Why is moving pst files a bad idea? Are you saying you can't do
anything with pst copies?

Put thunderbird on the mac first and use it's import function. Now you
have a mostly) transparent migration process by just relocating the
thunderbird files to a new machine. Moving pst files is always a bad
idea.
_USING_ pst files is always a bad idea :-)

The family iMac is about to move to another life and I need to capture
my
wife's Outlook Express e-mail files and address book for some other mail
reader. If we go with some Linux box for her, what are the mail reader
and
export/import options for doing this? Does 'thunderbird' have a way to
import M$ mail and addresses?
TIA.
