Was able to get the Desktop CD it as direct download from one
of the official US mirrors... but not until the third one I tried.

However, an MD5 check sum was unavailable at their "check your
download" page.  With a little hunting I ended up finding all of them
listed at DistroWatch.com and confirmed that I have a good image.
