Public keys (e.g., those that go in authorized_keys) should not have any
newlines in them, be that UNIX, DOS, or old style Mac newlines.  The
authorized_keys file only has one newline per key, seperating the keys.

The private keys should only have UNIX newlines to be safe, and I don't
know about other distributions, but todos(1) and fromdos(1) are standard
on mine.
