Its been a long time since I actually have been to an ALE meeting due to
job obligatins. The past Central ALE meeting was the first one in over a
year easily. I thoroughly enjoyed Mike's talk as did many others.

The thing that I wanted to comment on was the concept of "advanced
topics". I think that whetheror not something is advanced or not is
really difficult to determine. I also contend that isn't all that
important either. I personally don't consider encrypting filesystems an
advanced topic. The basic premise can be explained fairly quickly The
procedure to do so is a bit complicated. And moreso, making it more
accessable someone that isn't very comfortable with the command line is
a herculean task (which makes Mike's presentation even more impressive).

I think the thing that stood out the most in Mike's talk was the
presentation itself. I think that mike's presentatin was spot on with
the level of depth, the level of clarity and the level of interest of
the ALE group in general. Assume that there are always some folks in
the room that know nothing about what you are talking about. And assume
that there are folks in the room that want to duplicate what you do.

Now obviously not everyone has as much experience doing public speaking
as Mike and others but I think that if we aim at the proper target then
we are bound to hit close.

just my two cents
