No. I have spent quite a bit of time reading and testing. It is just that some
of the requirements are beyond me. Like, I have never recompiled a kernel by
myself before - and that is what many of the docs/mans mention or recommend.

Further, the docs aren't written for a newbie who is rusty at the command
line. The authors seem to write for those with prior knowlege or
admin-skills. Before posting, I worked on it for quite some time (just like
anyone else who would bring home a new toy).

I am *just* now getting to the fact that I don't have a bttv card (sounds like
I should get one) because the model numbers don't match from one indicator to
the next.

But, FYI John, I will admit that I want to avoid learning how to recompile the
kernel, learning where various modules "go," and symbolically linking the
boot image(?), and setting up various "extra" aspects of the card (remote,
etc) BEFORE I get the VCR to play into the computer. :)
