[ale] TV tuner card problem

The pvr-250 is not a regular frame grabber. It's a hardware based mpeg
encoder. Support for it is very limited. The ivtv driver supports both the
pvr-250 and the pvr-350. The mythtv project also supports it through the
ivtv driver. As others have pointed out, it's hard to figure out which
boards actually have a bttv supported chipset these days. Mostly because a
lot of manufacturers are moving away from the brooktree chipsets to the
conexant chipsets. Try getting a lower level hauppauge card like the
wintv-fm or something like that... :0)

The mythtv project is pretty sweet. I have a dedicated box running at home
pretending to be an overly capable Tivo.
