It fumes up really bad. The plastic has stuff in it that you really
don't want to be breathing. And while the data ir no longer accessable,
there is _still_ a plastic disk to "dispose" of.
Reusable media is the best bet. A new travan tape drive is only a few
hundred bucks. Zip drives are OK. CD-RW with a bit of scripting will
work well too.
A permanent archive on CD-R will become a trash heap.
