Ok, what weekend wouldn't be complete without me asking some
off-the-wall question? Here's my latest quandry: I have a PC thats
acting as a fileserver. I have about 6-8 hard disks in it, but alas, my
power supply will only let me connect about 5 devices. So, I'm sitting
here looking at an AT power supply that's just collecting dust, and I'm
wondering if I can connect it to some of the drives, connect the grounds
together, and connect the +5 and +12 lines to each other corresponding
line on the other power supply.

Are there any EE's out there that can tell me the consequences of doing
this?

Can this work, or am I going to find myself in a mist of magic computer
smoke?

Thanks again...!
