[ale] Alas! At long last I've been hacked.

It would be worth it to let those who did have access to your machine know that you got hacked. Since the rootkit was installed, I wonder about the source of the attack. Maybe a machine that you had allowed access is the source of the attack? Did you check any logs before wiping the machine? Just curious. It is a strange feeling getting hacked. I remember when I let it happen at KSU, what a long road that was to getting "unhacked". Hope you don't have any long term problems! Good luck,
Dow

A quick update. I installed Smoothwall. Smooth as silk. The only missing
item is setting the NAT timeout so that my terminal connections won't hang up
after 10 minutes.

The application, interfaces, and documentation are all first rate.

Definitely worth a try.

I'm running the 2.0b4 version.
