Nope its not that. Its the ability to take a piece of software and make it
do what you need it to do. I"m not good with vehicles. If you take the model
that most people want to show about MS is the model of a car with its hood
welded shut. The ability to open the hood and fix anything that needs to
be fixed on your terms is what makes a great mechanic. I can do some things
to my car but for most jobs I have to take it to a mechanic. The same goes
with MS. If you can make software do what you want it to do then you can
stop the memory leaks, the buffer overflows, etc..

So many customers we've contacted are busy now due to the outbreak
of viriuses they are extremely busy. Why? Why must this crap go
on. When are people going to clue in that maybe Outlook is not the
thing to use. I admin that I'm attracted to outlook because it is
spiffy but have fallen in love with mutt. Winbloze users would not
even consider mutt.

I've dealt with many network admins and I can tell you that the reason why
there is a huge market for network administration tools is the state of
these admins. I've made money off the idiots. I've taken good money
from companies that could have saved their cash if only they had a
more competent administrator.

I've seen my share of admins and have a bad tates in my mouth. Maybe
its because I've been exposed to too many DBA's, MCSE's, and CCNA's. I
dislike them. They request a high salary from the company they work
for and provide shi**y value in return.
