[ale] USB Pendrive on RH 8.0

I'm not sure if this political discussion group is the right place to ask this, 
but here goes.....:->

I bought a generic USB pendrive under the hope of using it to transfer image 
files from my RH8 box to the wife's Windoze box.

I'm having trouble getting the pendrive mounted.

I've looked for the usual online resources, and they all point to it appearing 
like a SCSI drive, and mounting /dev/sda1.  However, all my attempts to do this 
fail int he mount (I have no real SCSI devices on the box).

Anyone have good pointers and/or hints?
