Earthlink accepts a '%' symbol in place of an '@' symbol. Try:

www43243%mydomain.com

Subject:	[ale] ange-ftp and earthlink

Hello all,
hopefully a simple question. I am helping out a friend who is hosting
his web site with earthlink. I am trying to use ange-ftp in emacs to get
to his files so I can edit them in place, the problem is that the userid I
have to log in with contains an '@' so it would be:

username www43243 at mydomain.com
host: ftp.business.earthlink.net

so in emacs it becomes
/www43243 at mydomain.com@ftp.business.earthlink.net:/path/to/file, which
does not work...

I tried escaping it, no luck. Could I somehow send a literal '@' \x40?

Am I missing something simple?

TIA....
