I guess it's a testimony to my disuse of windows, but I can't get a
win98 box to dialin to a linux ppp server and connect. My linux box does
it just fine, thank you.
It seems to not be sending the login name at any predictable time.
>From the ppp server log:

Then it drops the connection and resets the modem.
>From the /etc/mgetty+sendfax/login.conf:
/AutoPPP/ - a_ppp /usr/sbin/pppd file /etc/ppp/options.server2
auth -chap +pap login debug
and from /etc/ppp/options.server2:
lock
-detach
modem
crtscts
proxyarp
asyncmap 0
ms-dns 207.69.188.185
The linux box connect nicely with a supplied IP address and DNS. The
win98 box croaks gloriously. It will connect to Earthlink with no
problems so I know connections are possible. Clearly Earthlink has a bag
of magic scripts that I don't have.
Anybody know how to do this?
