[ale] Online haggling via POST (from 2600 Nov. issue)

Anyone see the article on buying stuff online at a much reduced priced 
by creating your own forms and URLs with reduced prices for an item? 
 The author basically post a URL to the online system for an item but 
put in his own price.  He had the transaction successfully complete, get 
reviewed by several humans, his bill of sale stamped by a human, and 
shipping/packaging/delivery done by humans.  No one noticed he bought a 
Wacom tablet for $125 dollars instead of $725.  His legal counsel said 
the transaction could be possible legal since a catalog is not a binding 
price but a negotiable price in contract law.  This seemed rather 
intriguing to me.
