That's kind of my thinking. Long ago and far away I was (quite briefly)
a journalism student at UGA, and bough at Nikon 8008 (fine camera).I've
been putting off going digital until I can find something that will use
the lenses I've already shelled out a decent bit of money for. Fuji has
put out a pretty good digital camera body that uses Nikon AF lenses,
designed to compete with the Nikon DX series, and the price for all
three cameras are dropping at a decent clip. I'm guessing in a year or
so these cameras will get into the affordable range.
