I had great success with jpilot and my Palm III, on Redhat. When I made the great leap to Slack 7.1, I couldn't use jpilot anymore BUT (disclaimer), I tried to install it, didn't work, I said "I'll look at it later" and never did. So as always, YMMV. :)

I've been coveting the CLIes for a couple of months now...very sharp and I love the memory stick feature. I think there's LOTS of possibilites there and I'd love to see a pockelinux ported to the CLIe with that extra removable memory.

As to your synching questions and USB vs serial...don't know, sorry. I know that the pilot link package (which is what is underlying the gui jpilot) talks to a *device* that you can specify, which says to me that USB would be no problem.

Good luck

I'm considering getting one of the Sony Palm clones (the CLIe) and was
wondering if anyone had played with one. I'm sort of assuming that since
it is Palm OS it will properly sync with the Linux Palm tools - has
anyone had any confirming experience?

Secondly, what packages do people reccomend for syncing? The one I'm
familiar with is Autopilot. Do any of the packages support the USB
cradle, or do I need the serial version?

Thanks for any assistance,
