Yeah...that's a bit out of my price range.  Am I
making much ado about nothing here?  Anyone have any
idea how running a laptop solely as a router 24/7
would compare to, say, leaving a lamp on round the
clock?

I've disconnected the laptops monitor, so there's some
power savings right there.
