ok, i'm up on the 2.4.9-12 kernel now under RH 7.1. The dmesg looks
pretty clean after a reboot for usb:
[root at matthew /root]# dmesg|grep usb
usb.c: registered new driver usbdevfs
usb.c: registered new driver hub
usb-uhci.c: $Revision: 1.259 $ time 18:40:10 Oct 30 2001
usb-uhci.c: High bandwidth mode enabled
usb-uhci.c: USB UHCI at I/O 0x1c00, IRQ 11
usb-uhci.c: Detected 2 ports
usb.c: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 1
usb-uhci.c: v1.251:USB Universal Host Controller Interface driver
I have /dev/pilot as follows:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 16 Dec 13 22:29 /dev/pilot ->
/dev/usb/ttyUSB0
When I run jpilot (version 0.99) after hitting the sync button on the
cradle and then the sync button in jpilot:
usb.c: USB device 2 (vend/prod 0x82d/0x100) is not claimed by any active
driver.
usbserial.c: USB Serial support registered for Generic
usb.c: registered new driver serial
usbserial.c: USB Serial Driver core v1.3
usbserial.c: USB Serial support registered for Handspring Visor
usbserial.c: Handspring Visor converter detected
usbserial.c: Handspring Visor converter now attached to ttyUSB0 (or
usb/tts/0 for devfs)
usbserial.c: Handspring Visor converter now attached to ttyUSB1 (or
usb/tts/1 for devfs)
usbserial.c: USB Serial support registered for Palm M500
usbserial.c: USB Serial support registered for Palm M505
usbserial.c: USB Serial support registered for Sony Clie 3.5
usbserial.c: USB Serial support registered for Sony Clie 4.0
usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 3, frame# 1459
usb.c: USB disconnect on device 2
usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 2, frame# 1465
usbserial.c: Handspring Visor converter now disconnected from ttyUSB0
usbserial.c: Handspring Visor converter now disconnected from ttyUSB1
Ok, tried it the other way: sync button in jpilot then on cradle:
usbserial.c: Handspring Visor converter detected
usbserial.c: Handspring Visor converter now attached to ttyUSB0 (or
usb/tts/0 for devfs)
usbserial.c: Handspring Visor converter now attached to ttyUSB1 (or
usb/tts/1 for devfs)
usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 3, frame# 1484
usb.c: USB disconnect on device 3
usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 2, frame# 1494
usbserial.c: Handspring Visor converter now disconnected from ttyUSB0
usbserial.c: Handspring Visor converter now disconnected from ttyUSB1
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Gene
