Exactly the same thing happened to me. I sat at home from 11-2 for a no show,
no call. After a couple of calls to complain it turns out the technician did
come out here to test my line later that afternoon and I don't qualify but I'm
"close" and I should "call back in 4 weeks"... no explanation what that meant.
On a related topic I've got a couple of questions about what you can actually DO
with ADSL from Linux: run a web server for myself and friends? email server?
FTP server? All for non-commercial, low-bandwidth use, but I'm just wondering
if there's a gotcha to prevent being a server from in-home ADSL service. Does
anyone know the short answer or know a link to a FAQ for these questions?
