I have ADSL, which is essentially the same from a setup perspective. There's
lots of ways to do this, but here's basically what I did:

* plug everything into a switch
* configure the unix box with your assigned IP address like normal 
* add an alias ethernet device in your unix box (or an extra card if you've
got room for it in the machine and in the switch)
* configure that second device to be 10.0.0.1
* enable masquerading on the unix box
* enable firewalling rules as appropriate
* configure all your other machines to use 10.0.0.1 as their gateway, DNS,
etc. and give them IP addresses from the 10.0.0.0/8 block

For me, the only tricky part was actually configuring my *DSL router.
Depending on if you're in bridged or ppp mode, once everything's up and
running you can configure it just by telnetting in, but initially you have
to do it over a serial connection.  It took a while to get minicom to
connect....
