[ale] ATI Rage II video card

Iv'e been having trouble with my new video card, an ATI 3d Pro Turbo PC2TV
8meg.
It uses the Rage II chip. I was running X 3.3 on Slackware 3.3, and I
upgraded
to X 3.3.1, which was supposed to fix my problem. The monitor just blacks
out when I startx, as if it's no longer receiving signal from the card.
Metro-X doesn't support this card. I downloaded the compatabilty demo from
Accelerated-X, and that didn't work
either. Only the vga-16 server works.
