}why don't we try to contribute to their meetings and publicise Linux
}at the same time. One or more of us could offer to do talks with a
}Linux focus that would be of interest to the general AUUG audience.
}Something like how to setup a firewall using Linux or how their is now
}native support for Java, Appletalk, and etc in Linux. Isn't this the
}same goal as the Expo? To publicise Linux to other business/unix users?

I think this is a great idea.  I kinda picked up a 'them vs. us' attitude
at the meeting Thursday.  These two groups are working toward similar goals,
ALE's are just a bit more focused.  I once was a regular AUUG attendee, so
I would suspect there are some would be 'converts' out there.  I've been
working with UNIX for a few years, but have just recently gotten into Linux
because I hadn't heard of it.

I guarantee there are some folks at those meetings using some flavor of
UNIX at work and Windog 'something' at home.  They are dying to hear about
Linux.

One thing that would be good to present is the amount of 'stuff' Linux has
to offer.  When I first got it, I had no clue I would be using it to
connect to my ISP, run an ftp and Web server.  I know there are those out
there that think of Linux as a toy.  We just need to educate them.
