Job Title

Systems Support Engineer

Job Description

This position is responsible for the upkeep of an existing system
supporting the infrastructure of the Georgia Tech
Institute for Electronics and Nanotechnology. The system implements
equipment access control, billing , scheduling
and other functions using PostgreSQL, Django and Python on a linux server.
The position will also be involved in
the planning and implementation of a redesign of this system to add
flexibility and functionality utilizing the
Outsystems platform.

Duties and responsibilities include:

1.Diagnose and repair server issues as required to keep the system in
optimum operating condition.
2.Customization of web based interfaces to the system as needed in the
Outsystems platform.
3.Customization of databases to meet changing information needs in the
Outsystems platform.
4.Perform other related duties as assigned.

Impact & Influence:

Interact with faculty, GT OIT, students, outside vendors, visitors.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree Computer Science (or
related field), or equivalent
combination of education and experience. Experience in troubleshooting and
problem diagnosis. Excellent
communication skills, both spoken and written, professional demeanor and
ability to work well with others,
including students, faculty, research staff and departmental
administrative staff is required. Excellent
organizational skills and the demonstrated ability to manage multiple
high-priority tasks simultaneously are
required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Outsystems platform, Web development, Python, Javascript, SQL, CSS, HTML,
Django, Linux, jQuery &
PostgreSQL.
