We have a new position for our technical sales and support operations.

*Responsibilities:*

Sales support for a network monitoring system.
Support cloud based services of the NMS.
Maintain embedded Linux devices in the field via
  IP and modems.
Maintain servers running CentOS in the field and our
  cloud providers.
Manage new customer on-boarding.
Train customers via web based software and
onsite.
Work trade shows as needed.
Possible client visits. (Both require some travel)
Provide support to development via testing, etc.

*Requirements.*

Strong Linux expertise
Scripting via Perl and/or Python.
We are heavy users of Perl.
Strong understanding of networking concepts.
Routing, NAT, firewalls, VPN, PPP, etc.
Strong SNMP expertise.
We configure our NMS to monitor traps from remote
reports. Ability to understand MIBS required.
SQL
   We are MySQL users.
RS232 (Serial)
We still make many serial connections to monitor
   and access devices.

*  Extra credit.*

Apache, Tomcat, and Java technologies.
We deliver the main application to clients as a web
app on Linux. Running either on real hardware or at
a cloud provider like Rackspace. Our Java developers
maintain this, but a simple understanding provides benefit.

Modem / POTS experience.
Some end-users allow only a dial-up connection. We use
a demand link setup with IP. Understanding of modems and
AT commands to deal with line quality is a benefit.

OpenVPN:
We are expanding our support for OpenVPN.

 MCU programming. AVR.
We use ATmel processors to deliver tiny monitoring
devices that attach to our remote devices. Having experience
with this technology allows us to continue testing ideas and
   eventually creating solutions.

Our shop is primarily Linux. We deliver a solution on Linux platforms.
We offer very little Windows support, but that area is growing. For this
the nice-to-have experience is WMI and WQL. Especially running WMI/WQL
from Linux to windows for management.

This position is located in Alpharetta/Cumming, but will mostly be a remote
working setup.
As needed we meet at our offices. Living close to Alpharetta is nice, but
not required
since you can work from home.

Please contact me via email if interested.
