Thompson Technologies has an immediate need for a full time Linux Engineer in Atlanta (Cobb Cloverleaf area) for administration of a Linux based infrastructure for a SaaS application and Rackspace cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
Configure and administer Linux servers.
Configure Linux file systems and firewalls.
Maintain upgrade our Puppet and fabric based deployment systems.
Build and streamline deployment strategies for our Rackspace hybrid cloud environment.
Work closely with development team to increase automation of builds and deployments.
Maintain security of the SaaS infrastructure.
Monitoring of systems.
Improving the overall quality of internal networks.

Requirements:
2 to 3 years of Linux administration.
Shell scripting knowledge.
In depth understanding of Firewall and VPN configuration and Vulnerability prevention techniques.
Knowledge of network protocols including: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and VoIP.

Desired:
Experience with Rackspace cloud environment or other cloud vendors.
Python application programming knowledge.
