Software Engineer, Operating Systems - Duluth, GA

Cadillac Jack is recruiting for a Linux expert to join our Operating Systems department.  This person should be comfortable working on the Linux kernel and being part of a strong team environment. The engineer should be able
to diagnose driver configuration problems, write bash scripts, devices
integration and build kernel procedures.  3 Years Linux Kernel experience required 

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:

The duties of this role include but are not limited to the following:

    Troubleshooting and debugging Linux kernel configuration issues.
    Write bash scripts.
    Kernel upgrades.
    Automated build process.
    Create, modify and integrate custom drivers
    Integrate new devices into our platforms.
    Responsible for multiple custom Linux operating systems.
    Prepare and document OS build process.
    Provide technical expertise to engineering, quality assurance, software configuration management, regulators and customers.

SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS: 

    Strong analytical skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
    Must work well in a team environment and on individual tasks with minimum supervision.
    Strong knowledge on Linux distribution, installation and configuration.
    Extensive Linux operating systems knowledge is required.  Preferred Debian or Gentoo experience.
    Linux administration skills are a plus.
    Experience with microprocessor-based real-time embedded systems, video graphics, RS232, and networking is desirable.
    2+ years of professional experience in software development is required.
    Gaming experience is a plus but not necessary.
    B.S. degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or related field
